Maeve Cairney

Maeve Cairney (nee Horan) was born in Dublin but has lived in Kinvara, Co. Galway since 2006. She has sung as a soloist and as part of various choirs and folk groups at Masses and religious ceremonies for almost 30 years. She is currently the cantor in St. Colman’s Church, Kinvara as well as being one of a team of cantor’s in Galway Cathedral.

Following several years of study at Bel Canto School of Singing (where Maeve first became aware of her true vocal ability) Maeve performed with Lyric Opera Chorus and the Cantabile Singers in the National Concert Hall and other venues throughout Dublin.



Maeve has a broad repertoire including classical, sacred, contemporary, jazz and traditional pieces suited to any venue/event; corporate, religious or informal.

Maeve is also quick to learn and willing to approach any song requested of her. She is employed by Shannon Heritage as a singer in Dunguaire Castle from April to October and is a member of the Quay Singers in Kinvara. Her debut CD, Let It Happen, was released in May 2010 and since then has performed numerous solo concerts in Galway, Clare and Dublin venues.
