A high street retailer asked its shoppers which songs had them running for the bar or bucket instead of the dance floor when it comes to the all important first dance, with the cheesy duets coming up tops.
Ruth Leach, Spokesperson for Debenhams, said: "It seems those overplayed songs and belting ballads, far from installing a sense of romance to the big day, are instead having the wedding guests groaning into their champagne glasses.
"However, it does mean that with such well-known and loved songs, the whole party can join in with a mass sing-a-long - dance moves included.
Classic crooner and ballad queen Celine Dion makes two appearances, with her cheesy chart-topper My Heart will Go On and The Power of Love voted in the Top 10.
"With the whole country going into a wedding frenzy, and in anticipation of what song Kate and Wills will have chosen as theirs, we hope to get those shopping on the day dancing and singing along to the celebrations," Ruth added.
On what makes the perfect first dance song, wedding planner Siobhàn Craven-Robin, said: “The perfect first dance is one that both the bride and groom ultimately feel comfortable with as they will be centre stage for the whole three and a half minutes, no matter how cheesy it may be. However, more couples are now opting to break tradition with mash-ups of both their favourites to accommodate their differing musical tastes.”
