Cunard Considers Wedding Ship Registration

Wedding ceremonies at sea may soon be available on Cunard ships.

The company may change the registration of its ships in order to perform weddings.

Cunard president Peter Shanks said the ships could be registered in an overseas British territory making weddings on board legal.

Currently the ships are under English law which only allows weddings in publicly accessible places excluding ceremonies at sea.

A wedding ship would be designated rather a full fleet of re-registration.

He said Cunard could designate a wedding ship and change its registry alone or re-register all of its ships.
