Theatrical Landmark Becomes Wedding Venue

A couple have exchanged vows at a famous theatre in Leeds.

Chloe Wilkinson, 23, and James King, 30, from West Yorkshire, were the first to say 'I do' in a mini production at the City Varieties theatre.

Family and friends watched from the stalls and boxes.


Speaking to the BBC Ms Wilkinson said: "We're not traditional and both wanted something different.

"I can't think of anything better. This is just us."

They were officially married at Leeds Town Hall on Thursday.

The wedding at the a Grade II-listed music hall was arranged by a Leeds-based company for 'unusual weddings'.

City Varieties theatre has undergone a £9.9m upgrade.
