Couple Marry Amid Resort Fire

A couple whose wedding venue burst into flames on their big day went ahead with the ceremony.

Nancy Rogers, 32, and her fiance Michael from Nova Scotia , planned to marry at the White Point resort near Liverpool, when they heard the main building was on fire, CTV reports.

As 60 firefighters moved in to try to save the building the couple decided they would carry on with the wedding ceremony regardless.

"We still wanted to get married. If we had to get married on the side of the road, we were getting married on the side of the road. We were getting married. That was all there was to it," Nancy told The Canadian Press.

The wedding was moved to another building, and the ceremony went ahead.

A happy-ever after is what the couple seek.

"Our last weddings were picture-perfect; nothing went wrong. But the marriages didn't work out," she added. "Rocky wedding, fantastic marriage is the way we see it."
