The exhibition, which is due to take place in Spring 2012, will feature a selection of wedding dresses belonging to local residents and the centre is appealing for the loan of dresses from any decade. Whether you got married in the wartime era, the heady days of the 1960s and 70s or even just last week, the centre wants to hear from you.
Weddings are such a central event in many people’s lives and the centre want the local community to get involved in the making of this exhibition and be part of the exhibition themselves.
In addition to wedding dresses, they also wish to borrow other wedding accessories such as photographs, wedding favours, invitations and cards so if people have items that they think would be of interest, please feel free to get in touch.
For further information contact: Victoria Newberry, Museum/Heritage Officer Tel: 028 7776 0650 Email: victoria.newberry@rvacc.co.uk. All items selected for display will be returned to owners once the exhibition ends.
