Investigation After Aspire Wedding Firm Goes Bust

A meeting is to be held investigating a Bristol wedding firm's assets after it ceased trading before Christmas, the BBC reports.

Aspire Venues could go into liquidation at the meeting which will outline who is owed money.

Creditors include HMRC, councils, over 130 couples and employees.

Three out of the four venues Aspire operated from have been taken over.

Paul Khosla, 26, who had forked out over £8,300 for his wedding told the news website: "It left us in an awkward position and with a bitter taste in our mouth.

"Obviously a wedding is a very special day to all involved and rearranging a venue at short notice is not easy."

The firm's directors declined to comment to the BBC on the matter.
