Toxic Sofa Spray Ruined Groom's Big Day

A groom has hit out at a furniture chain after claiming a poisonous sofa spray ruined his big day and honeymoon, The Sun reports.

Neil Gossington, 47, who used Harveys Fabric Protector one day before his wedding to beau Pat, 48, says he feared he was having a heart attack when suffering shortness of breathe and chest pains.

Neil found nuptials a struggle and was tired for the duration of his honeymoon.

He told the newspaper: "Friends blamed wedding nerves but it was the spray — it wiped me out. I felt like death on the day and it was just a case of having to get through it.

"I even struggled walking. I loved being with Pat but being sick spoilt it."

The spray, which contains dangerous chemical heptane, was withdrawn from sale last June.
