Romance is in the air during the annual ceremony, held on the powdery white sands of Siesta Key Beach, which was named "America's Best Beach" by Dr. Stephen Leatherman, aka "Dr. Beach" in 2011.
The ceremony, one of the largest in Florida, attracted 800 participants last year, along with 200 guests.
"Every year, this event gets bigger and bigger," said Jennifer Groff, Sarasota County Parks and Recreation program coordinator. "We are expecting an even larger turnout on Siesta Key Beach this year because of the America's #1 Beach ranking. What better way to spend Valentine's Day than sharing a gorgeous sunset on America's best beach with the most special person in your life? It really makes for a memorable evening."
This year's vow renewal ceremony will be today at 6 p.m., at 948 Beach Road on Siesta Key. All legally married couples will participate. They have registered in advance.
The vow renewal ceremony will be officiated by Judge Becky Titus. Marriage-Works, sponsor of "Say I Do Again," will provide music and giveaways. Following the ceremony, couples will receive a commemorative certificate and enjoy ceremonial wedding cake from Beautiful Cakes by Ron.
