For couples who dream of a being able to afford a fairy tale wedding in a Mansion House in the Highlands of Scotland, Ardkinglas is the answer.
Ardkinglas is a stunning location for a wedding with the freedom and flexibility to take on the arrangements, whether to have something a little different from the norm or to keep costs to a minimum.
Still very much a family home, the House, generally considered to be the masterpiece of architect Sir Rober Lorimer, is virtually unchanged since it was built a century ago. Normally only open to the public for special events, this weekend Ardkinglas House is open for the first time to view as a wedding venue. The owner, David Sumsian, is very enthusiastic about couples having the freedom to take full advantage of everything that Ardkinglas House and Gardens can offer.
He said: "More couples are taking advantage of the amazing choice at Ardkinglas to have a truly exceptional wedding day. Traditional weddings are the most popular but we want couples to know there is also the opportunity to be innovative.
"For example it is possible to have a sunset reception on the loch-side with a huge bonfire and barbeque or a secluded woodland ceremony with guests seated below a canopy of the tallest trees in the UK. We are happy to be flexible to help couples on a budget have the wedding of their dreams; they can supply all their own catering and we dont charge corkage."
Situated on the shores of Loch Fyne in Argyll, the architectural gem of Ardkinglas House set against a spectacular backdrop of mountain and forest is an exquisite setting for a wedding.
The terraced lawns leading down to Loch Fyne can accommodate a marquee and at sunset the House can be floodlit, with flaming torches on the terraces providing the ultimate romantic atmosphere. There are also magical sites within the woodland garden for alfresco drinks following a wedding ceremony either in the gardens or the House. Ardkinglas provides a setting for a wedding that would never be described as ordinary, with an added bonus for those on a budget is that it can very affordable.
