John and Julie, of Burntwood, Staffs, nuptials were cut short when he was taken away in handcuffs after the altercation.
John, 47, told the paper: "It was completely over the top. The police turned up mob-handed as if there had been a terrorist alert.
"I got back from the station to the hotel the following morning to see my guests leaving. We spent all that money and it ended up a disaster. It was heartbreaking."
The pair used their life savings for the ceremony at Coventry’s Coombe Abbey hotel. They had nearly 350 guests and themed the wedding after 80s hits.
John, who had been drinking, became angry after the DJ wavered from the playlist.
John commented to The Sun: "The next thing I knew the music was unplugged and security closed the bar.
"The rest was a blur as police marched in. I tried to reason with one of the officers but he pulled out a Taser device, pointed it at me and said he would use it if I didn’t calm down."
John was arrested on suspicion of breach of the peace but was freed without charge after ten hours. Julie, 44, spent her wedding night alone and sobbing in the honeymoon.
Julie told the paper: "I will never forget the sight of him being led away in handcuffs like a criminal on our wedding day. It was dreadful."
