John and Mandy Hodge, from Cumnock, got married with family and friends looking on in the new marriage suite within the area office. The suite, which seats 70 people, is a beautiful, airy room which can be decorated to match each bride’s colour scheme.
After the wedding, conducted by East Ayrshire Council Registrar Irene Capperauld, the couple were presented with crystal glasses on behalf of the Council. They then moved out to the plaza forecourt which proved a perfect backdrop for their wedding photographs.
Elizabeth Morton, Depute Chief Executive and Executive Director of Neighbourhood Services said: "We were delighted to conduct John and Mandy’s wedding within the new Cumnock Area Office. Not only does the £10m office brings together council services, NHS practitioners and other agencies under the one roof, providing easier access to services for our local residents, but it is a very attractive building which lends itself well to celebrations like John and Mandy’s wedding.
"On behalf of the Council, I would like to offer them our very best wishes for the future."
