Campaigners held the fake nuptials to press the Scottish Government to back the proposal.
The Equality Network organised the event which saw Jaye and Ruth, a Christian couple from Glasgow 'married' by Rev Jane Clarke of the Metropolitan Community Church.
The network then handed in a 10,000-signature petition to MSPs and letter to the First Minister. They say most people in Scotland supported legalising gay marriage.
Rev Clarke, said: "My Church, like many others, wants the right to conduct same-sex marriages. For us this is an issue of equality and religious freedom.
"Religious bodies should have the right to conduct same-sex marriages if they want to, and we trust the Scottish Government will respect our religious freedoms too."
