After spending months planning a wedding we often forget about our holiday wardrobe so here are some tips so you can honeymoon in style.
Rockin Cotton
Excuse us while remove our fashionista hat in exchange for something more practical, but before we go any further we need to talk about fabrics. You are bound to find plenty of beautiful clothes out there but if it’s a synthetic fibre, and you are going anywhere where it might be hot, dismiss it immediately. Chances are that, if the sun shines, you won’t look glam, you’ll look hot and sticky. Breathability is key and cotton is king. Like cotton, merino wool for jumpers and cardigans, and linen for suits not only keep you comfy, they look great.
Summer's biggest trends are perfect for holidays
When designers got their pads and pencils out to formulate 2012's summer trends, they must have had holidays in mind. Bold colour blocks, striking exotic prints, light pastels, faded denim and ethnic glamour are all huge at the moment and all perfectly suited for sandy beaches, sunny days and sultry evenings. You should be able to find an array of brilliant holiday-inspired fashion on the high street and online, and plenty of it at prices that leave enough in the wallet for a sundowner or two.
Dress to impress
Body-hugging bodycon is one of the biggest looks this summer but dresses remain your best option for sunnier climes. The craze for midriff-exposing tops and tight onepieces is really only accessible to the skinniest among us but even they will be cherishing the airiness and convenience of a maxi dress which keeps them cool and can be slung over swimwear. There are loads of beautiful dresses around, including plenty of plus size holiday clothes.
Dive into swimwear
A bikini or swimsuit is a must have on summer holidays but 2012 has us spoiled for choice, with brilliant, striking swimwear at every turn. If you can’t decide which one you like best, there really is no better year to treat yourself to a couple. And in the spirit of flaunting it if you have it, curvier girls should make the most of stunning plus bikini size choices.
The devil is in the detail
This summer’s holiday-centric fashion means spending a little bit more can be thought of as an investment. Plenty of items are sure to remain holiday favourites for years, including hats, bags and accessories. Leather sandals, totes that look like they’re straight from the souk and patterned cotton scarves that set off your ensemble and give respite from the sun should be high on your list.
