Wedding Party In Horse-Drawn Carriage Crash

Four people have been injured during a crash between a car and a horse-drawn carriage.

The wedding party were involved in the accident on the A710 in Dumfries and Galloway, at around 2pm on Saturday.

The driver of the carriage, Simon Millar, remains in hospital with serious injuries while his daughter Hannah, 18, bride Donna Pennycuik, 29, and her 45-year-old father Lawrence were later released after treatment for minor injuries at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.

The horses were also treated for minor injuries.

Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary said: "We believe the wedding went ahead, but the police inquiry is focusing on the crash."
