Scottish Man Uses Mum's Bridal Shop To Propose

A man from Scotland has proposed to his girlfriend after writing the big question on a bridal shop's windows.

CJ Barclay used his mother's bridal shop to pop the question to partner Melanie, the Daily Record has reported.

Barclay took his girlfriend to June Brides, located along Glasgow's Eglinton Street, during rush hour and when they arrived, Melanie found a message written across the shop's four windows.

It read: "Will you marry me? Say yes, love CJ."

Speaking of the unique proposal, 24-year-old Melanie said: "There were lorries beeping and shouting and everything. I just stood back in shock and then I heard CJ's mum and sister screaming. Of course, then I said yes and gave him a big kiss."

CJ added: "I'd originally intended to wait for her birthday later in the month, but when I got the ring I just thought, why wait? I have to admit I was pretty nervous though."

The proposal completes a whirlwind romance for the pair.

Despite both CJ and Melanie attending Glasgow's Shawlands Academy together, the couple only reconnected in December thanks to social networking site Facebook.

They moved in together after just a few dates.
