Sam Sheppard (34) has set up her own company to help teach other men how to propose correctly, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Speaking about her own proposal experience, Sheppard said it felt similar to "being asked out for pizza", rather than a romantic gesture.
She then decided to set up The Proposal Expert to help people propose correctly.
She explained: "I want to help other people not to feel how I felt.
"Initially, I felt like he couldn't really care about me to have asked that way, though of course I know that's not true at all."
The 34-year-old added that she has a "10 per cent success rate".
She added: "I ask key questions to put together the pieces of the puzzle – what makes their partner laugh, how they spend their Saturday mornings – those little things build up a picture.
"Once we've got the idea, the proposer can then have as much or as little input as they like. So far I've got a 100 per cent success rate.
"A good proposal can be lasting talking point, but a bad one can end up on YouTube for the whole world to see," she concluded.
Ms Sheppard, who originally rejected a proposal from her boyfriend, Ryan Galeozzi, the couple are still together.
