Survey Reveals Top Dating 'Turn Offs'

A new survey has found that 20% of Britons cut down on the amount of food they eat on a first date because they are scared their date is judging them.

The statistics, revealed by YO! Sushi (who conducted the research), found that almost a third of women will eat less on a first date, so their partner doesn't view them as greedy.

Men were also found to eat differently on a first date, but it wasn't about looking greedy. Instead, they said the change in their eating habits was because the wanted to 'look smooth', admitting that they will order something they think will impress their date.

Interestingly, the women polled said they expected their men to eat like men, with 17% saying they wouldn't go on a second date with a man if he ordered a salad. For men, they were more concerned about whether they had received value for money for their dining experience.

Four in 10 men claimed they wouldn't go on a second date with a woman if she ordered the most expensive thing on the menu - and then didn't eat it.

Other findings of the survey found both sexes to be in agreement when it came to manners on a first date, with over half saying they wouldn't want to see their date again if they checked their phone for Facebook or Twitter updates during dinner.

The top five dating 'turn offs' were:

1. Your date using their phone through dinner to check Facebook and Twitter (57%)

2. Your date ordering food for you (46%)

3. Your date got drunk (40%)

4. Your date ordering the most expensive thing on the menu and didn't eat it (35%)

5. Your date didn't eat at all (32%)
