Devoted SAFC supporters Sarah Price and Heather Thompson exchanged vows at the stadium last week, the Sunderland Echo has said.
The couple are the first same-sex couple to tie the knot at the home of the Black Cats football in front of their family and friends.
The ceremony was carried out in the stadium's Drumaville Suite, before their photographs were taken with club mascot Samson the Cat. Afterwards, the couple had more photos taken at the dugouts and dressing rooms.
The red-and-white themed wedding even stretched to the reception as the wedding cake was constructed from wheels of cheese wrapped in red and white wax.
Sarah, 27, said: "We’re both really big Sunderland fans. We were delighted when we found out we could hold the event at the Stadium of Light, particularly as my mum and dad bumped into former goalie Jim Montgomery when they arrived – they were over the moon.
"It was just perfect. We kept the red and white theme going with our choice of honeymoon – we’re off to Canada."
