The couple, who were due to tie the knot on 18 May, are now said to be looking for a new venue, The Mirror has said.
The details of the wedding were published in the Western Gazette two weeks ago.
The television personality and her toyboy partner were supposed to marry at the historic Sherborne Abbey, Dorset, but following the leaked details, Syke's publicist said: "As a direct consequence of the Western Gazette's story two weeks ago, Melanie and Jack have been forced to change the venue for their wedding."
Another reason Sykes, 42, and Cockings, 27, are believed to have sought a new venue for their special day is because, as a public building, having the wedding in an abbey would mean members of the public would be entitled to attend.
A spokesman for Sherborne Abbey confirmed that the service had been cancelled but declined to comment further.
It is now believed the pair may tie the knot in a private ceremony elsewhere in the city.
Cockings proposed to the divorced mother-of-two last August, just four months after the couple began exchanging messages on Twitter.
