Speaking to the newspaper, the rapper admitted he did get emotional on his big day, while his television presenter wife was able to keep her composure.
He revealed: "I wasn't nervous on the day until the moment I saw Erin walking down the aisle. For the most part I held it together, but as soon as I started reading my vows, I had to shed a few tears."
Last week, the star admitted he was writing his own vows, including a poem he had composed for his new bride. Unknown to him, his father also prepared a poem about him for the reception.
He added: "My dad's speech had everyone roaring with laughter. His entire speech was a poem about my life from baby to man. Then, when it came to my speech, I also had a poem. Neither of us knew we had poems prepared. It could almost have been called a father/son rap battle."
Example and McNaught met in 2011 when she interviewed him. The couple became engaged in November 2012.
