Survey Reveals 'Perfect First Date'

A new survey has revealed what British women feel is the 'perfect first date'.

The research, which was carried out by Cupid.com, found that women expected their partner to call or text them ahead of time to confirm their date was still on.

When it came to the location of the date, a majority of women said they would pick somewhere of equal distance to both her home and his. This was in contrast to the men who took part in the survey, who said they would be more inclined to choose somewhere closer to her.

When they finally meet their date, women admitted they expected their date to pay them a compliment. They also said they would like their date to buy them a few drinks during the evening, but no more than that. However, a number of men said they would buy their date as many drinks as they could.

At the end of the date, when it comes to who pays the bill, both sexes are unsure as both men and women have different ideas on the subject. While women feel that men should spend at least £30 but not go over £50 on a first date, men claim they would rather wait until the second date until they part with their cash, just to make sure the woman is interested.

The study also revealed the biggest disagreement between men and women came at what should happen at the end of the date. Although it might be seen as romantic to walk a girl home, only 54% of women said they would like to be walked home, while 98% of men said they would like to walk her home after the date.

Luckily for men, women were in agreement that if the date went well, the man should lean in for a goodnight kiss.
