Bad Breath Tops First Date Worries List

Bad breath, looking fat and body odour has topped the list of 'first date' worries, according to a recent study, FemaleFirst has said.

The survey, which was carried out by CB12, found that more than half of participants worried about bad breath before a date.

It came first in the pre-date worries list for British daters and was followed by choice of outfit, looking fat and body odour.

When it came to looking at the biggest first date turn-offs, three quarters of those polled said they would be put of from dating someone again if they had bad breath.

Body odour topped the list of dating turn-offs with 86%, followed by bad breath (75%), excessive sweating (58%) and bad teeth (58%).

The survey also revealed that bad skin/spots (34%), too much make-up (30%), untidy/ungroomed nails (29%) and too much facial hair (28%) were also massive turn-offs when it came to dating.

James Preece, a UK dating expert, said: "It's completely natural for people to get pre-date nerves, especially on a first date when first impressions are so important.

"Bad breath is clearly causing a huge amount of angst amongst daters, yet thankfully there are products out there which can help.

"Confidence is key when it comes to dating as when people ooze confidence they appear more attractive to others – addressing pre-dates concerns boosts chances of having a fantastic date."
