The Premiership sports star married 25-year-old television presenter and model McConnell on Saturday in front of more than 100 guests, the Belfast Telegraph has said.
A few former Man United players, including Darron Gibson, John O'Shea and David May were ferried by buses to the ceremony as were a number of WAGs and local models.
Around one hundred locals also who turned out to catch a glimpse of the couple, with 40 members being allowed inside the church to watch the service, which was conducted by the bride’s father, Reverend Ken McConnell.
Rev McConnell, who is a devout Man United fan, raised laughter from the guests when he quipped to his new son-in-law: "I don't know what's scarier for you Jonny — standing here or playing in front of 70,000 people."
Ms McConnell, who works as a presenter for MUTV, met Evans after she began working for Old Trafford's in-house television channel.
Following the ceremony, which saw the couple leaving the church to an acoustic version of Elton John's Your Song, sang by local singers Lesley Anderson and Jonny Wright, the wedding party left for a reception 50 miles away at the Clandeboye Estate in north Down after posing for photographs.
