Mum-Of-One Gives Birth To Quintuplets

A woman has given birth to the first set quintuplets in the Czech Republic, the BBC has reported.

The babies, which were naturally conceived, were delivered by caesarean section on Sunday.

Alexandra Kinova, 23, gave birth to four boys and one girl. It took doctors at the Prague's Institute for the Care of Mother and Child just under two hours to deliver the five babies. It is understood there were no complications with the birth, with extra staff being brought in to assist with the deliveries.

Speaking after the birth, the children's father said: "They are beautiful, but they look quite alike. I hope this will change.

"They cried a lot, and I'm glad they're in good shape."

Ms Kinova was originally told she was expecting twins, but in March was then told by doctors that she was having quadruplets. It was only in April when she discovered she was carrying five children.

The mother and babies were taken to intensive care following the birth, but are all believed to be in a good condition.
