The actress made the comment in a recent interview with OK magazine, alongside her husband and former Corrie co-star, Alan Halsall.
The couple, who are expecting their first child together, revealed that it took just two weeks for Hudson to fall pregnant, but she felt bad because many of her friends are also trying to start their own families.
On discovering the news that she was going to be a mum, Hudson admitted: "I feel awful because a lot of our friends have struggled. I feel guilty telling people I'm pregnant because it happened so fast, while other people have been trying for months or even years."
Halsall added: "Literally, two weeks after we decided to start trying, she told me she was pregnant! If anything it was all a bit too quick!
"Lucy took me by surprise when she told me she was pregnant. I made her do five pregnancy tests because I couldn't believe it happened so fast."
The actor also said he is sad that his late co-star Bill Tarmey, who plyed Jack Duckworth in the soap, is not alive to meet the couple's child.
He said: "I know he would be thrilled. He'd be buzzing. It's a shame he'll never get to meet our little girl."
