Singletons Try To Break Speed Dating Record

A group of British singletons were recently selected to try and set the world record for the highest ever speed dating event.

The event, would be conducted at an altitude of 35,000 feet, the Daily Mail has said.

After going on a number of bar dates, the passengers boarded a flight from London Luton to Venice, Italy. During the two hour, 730-mile flight, the singles went on 20 three-minute dates.

Following the flight, the potential record-breakers continued the experience in Venice.

The company responsible for the 'holidate' arranged the event after discovering travel is the most common topic of conversation during a first date.

According to a new survey, 44% of people on a date will discuss their travels, while 41% will talk about music and 39% discuss work.

The research also revealed that one in 10 people have lied about the places they've visited in order to impress their prospective partner.

Speaking about the event, Andy Washington, Managing Director of Expedia UK and Ireland, said: "We're considering playing cupid again in the future with further Holidates. We're all hopeful for our first Expedia Wedding."
