According to The Sun, the 53-year-old was pictured in Mayfair, London yesterday, not far from where she has been living separately from her husband Charles Saatchi.
It is the first time Ms Lawson has been seen since she left the couple's home last Sunday.
Earlier this week, the couple's relationship hit the headlines after photographs emerged of them outside a Mayfair restaurant, where Saatchi repeatedly held his wife's throat.
Following the incident, Saatchi said they were having a "playful tiff", and there was no grip around her neck, but he did accept a caution for assault from the police, acknowledging that the offence took place. The chef then left the restaurant in tears and has not been seen with her partner since.
It has previously been said that the couple have a 'fiery' relationship and in an interview in 2007, Lawson called her husband "an exploder".
An onlooker is quoted by the publication as saying: "She clearly has a lot of things on her mind. You could tell she had had a few stressful days.
"She looked light years away from the gorgeous, voluptuous woman you see on the TV. Things have clearly taken their toll."
Nigella, whose father is ex-Tory Chancellor Lord Lawson, has not commented on the incident.
