Survey Reveals Where Cheating Wives Shop

A new survey, conducted by AshleyMadison.com, has revealed the stores cheating wives are more likely to shop.

The dating website, which specialises in extramarital affairs, complied a list of the 10 most popular stores for female adulterers.

For the study, 52,390 female members of the site were polled and more than a third admitted to spending double on their appearance after they started having an affair, while a further 27% admitted to having a secret credit card in order to fund their new buys.

The results also revealed that the shops on the list aren't overly high-end stores, indicating that they shopping more frequently, as opposed to buying a few, expensive items.

The selection of retailers on the list varies greatly, with one store geared towards women in their 30s and older, while another is aimed at a younger market. There is also a sportswear brand and a plus-size brand on the top 10 list.

Ashley Madison CEO Noel Biderman said that there is often a correlation between infidelity and an increased interest in looking good.

He explained: "Becoming more concerned with one's appearance is often a dead giveaway for an affair.

"If your spouse suddenly seems more consumed with style and putting outfits together after spending years in sweat pants, that is a telltale sign she could be two-timing."

The website, whose tagline is 'Life is short. Have an affair', has more than 17m users worldwide.
