Brides' Concerns After Bridal Store Ceases Trading

A number of brides-to-be have been left wondering if their big day will go ahead after the business they hired their wedding gowns from ceased trading.

According to STV, The Bridal Studio in Glasgow stopped trading on Thursday and sent a text message to around 200 women who have placed an order with them informing them of the news.

On the company's website a statement reads: "Due to a turndown in business we regret that the bridal studio ltd has now cease to trade from Thursday 27 June.

"All gowns kept in our warehouse will be delivered to brides from today.

"This decision has not been taking lightly and we apologise to everyone involved."

Speaking to STV News, the company said it had 'no choice' but to close and make its 13 staff redundant.

It added that its sales figures had fallen by two-thirds in the last year.

The firm said it would be attempting to deliver around 200 dresses – by courier – this weekend.
