The couple were initially aid to have tied the knot at the weekend, but it has since emerged that they have planned their nuptials for Canada Day.
The musicians, who are both Canadian, have been together since the summer of 2012 and it is thought their ceremony had a red-and-white theme.
In a recent interview with US chat show host Chelsea Handler, 28-year-old Lavigne said: "He's Canadian, and I'm Canadian, and we have a lot in common."
On Friday, a message by Mike Heller, CEO of Talent Resources, which represents the singer, sparked speculation that she was about to marry.
He wrote on Twitter that he was "about to see" his client get hitched, adding: "No pictures will be sent since this is #avril wedding but I will tell you everyone is so excited."
US Weekly then reported that, despite a wedding party held by the couple on Saturday, that no wedding had yet taken place.
Lavigne was previously married to Sum 41 frontman, Deryck Whibley, for three years. They filed for divorce in 2009, and their separation was finalised in November 2010.
