Woman Marries 600 Year Old Bridge

A woman is said to have married a 600-year-old bridge in France.

According to a report in Digital Spy, Australian artist, Jodie Rose, was visiting Le Pont du Diable as part of her 'Singing Bridges' project, which records the vibrations in bridge cables.

When she arrived at the 14th century structure, Ms Rose felt a connection and wrote on her website: "The Devil's Bridge is everything I could desire in a husband - sturdy, trustworthy, sensual, kind and handsome.

"He understands that I love other bridges - and men. Ours is a love that embraces the vagaries of life, as materialised in the swirling currents of the river that flows beneath his magnificent body."

The ceremony took place at the mouth of the bridge. It is understood Ms Rose, or the new Mrs Le Pont du Diable, wore a wedding gown and held a small service for 14 close friends and local members of the community.

The French government does not legally recognise the union, but the bride has insisted that it is as strong as any others to be found.

"This is not a decision I undertake lightly, just as our curves complement, we truly bring joy to each other, and the strength of his pylons will always carry me home," she added.
