33-year-old Ollie McAninch, and his fiancée Clair Hart, 30, were driving on a country lane when a 16-man gang jumped onto the road and stopped them.
The group had bats and set off a number of smoke grenades as they shouted and screamed. They took Mr McAninch from the car and placed him in the back of a van, were he was then bound, gagged and dressed in a jumpsuit.
However, the 'gang' was a group of McAninch's friends – who also had the foresight to let Ms Hart in on the joke. She acted scared as she watched the men carry her husband-to-be away.
Once inside the van, the men drove for more than 100 miles in silence before they revealed the prank to McAninch.
Shortly after, the marketing consultant was let out of the van, stripped and handed a lime green mankini, before being given a small bicycle and map and told he had to cycle 10 miles to his stag do.
McAninch, who is from Bath, said: "For more than two hours I was in that van. I've never been so scared."
Unfortunately for the stag, the incident left him so traumatised and stressed that he was left with shingles and ordered to stay away from his wife-to-be for a month.
"I was really worried I would miss the big day," he added.
It is understood the couple tied the knot in Devon on Saturday (6 July).
