Teddy Bears Occupy Children More Than Gadgets

A new survey has found that children are more likely to be kept entertained by their favourite teddy bear than gadgets such as iPads when they are on car journeys.

The study, which was carried out by NetVoucherCodes.co.uk asked 500 mothers what they take on long road trips with their children.

A favourite teddy bear or comforter topped the list with 96% while 86% of participants admitted they brought iPads or other gadgets to keep the youngsters occupied.


A spokesperson for the firm said: "Children can often get bored on long journeys so it's important to pack exactly the right items.

"I'm not surprised that gadgets and iPads came out as popular choices, technology is definitely a vital part of our lives now and it seems even the kids are catching on."

The top ten things to entertain kids on car journeys are:

1. Favourite teddy bear/comforter (96%)

2. Gadgets/iPad (82%)

3. CDs/iPod (74%)

4. Food and drink (71%)

5. Wipes (66%)

6. Favourite toy (52%)

7. Books (43%)

8. Pillow and blanket (26%)

9. Colouring book & crayons (15%)

10. Travel games (1%)
