The research, which was carried out by dating website Lovestruck.com, found that people are pulling out all the stops to try and improve their love life.
One move was for people to change their online dating profile to make it more attractive.
Almost a third of people were found to change or upload a new profile picture in the summer months to show off their tanned, summer bodies, while a majority of dating profiles were discovered to be edited and re-written in July and August.
Flirting is also on the increase for Brits looking for love with 27% of singles admitting to messaging until midnight during the summer months – even if it is on a work night.
Elsewhere, it seems the good weather is bring out the creative side of many singletons, with a 23% increase in the number of people going out on picnic lunch dates. In addition, a quarter of Britons admitted they are more likely to sleep with someone on the first date in the summer time, while 2% even claimed they would take their frisky activities outdoors.
