Ty Medland, 26, was told he would serve at least 25 years in jail after he "brutally" attacked his 24-year-old wife, Samantha, in public.
According to the judge presiding over the case, Medland believed his partner had stared a relationship with another man and could not accept the decision that their marriage was over.
The murder took place in Brighton, East Sussex, and was described as "frenzied and savage". However, before the attack, it was revealed Medland had taken to his Facebook page to share a series of graphic photos and videos of the couple having sex. In an accompanying message, he referred to his wife as a cheater and liar who "destroyed everything I loved and believe in".
For the attack, Mr Medland armed himself with four knives - three of which were wedding gifts.
He attacked her on February 17 as she collected belongings from him near her workplace in Queen Square.
Throughout the two-week trial at Lewes Crown Court, it was revealed Samantha had become close to another man and rejected her husband's attempts to get back together.
Speaking to the accused, Judge Anthony Scott-Gall said: "I am satisfied, as were the jury, that you couldn't accept this rejection, added to which was the suggestion in your mind that your wife had started a relationship with another man."
The judge said he accepted that tragedy had touched Medland's life before he killed his wife. This included the death of his daughter and a miscarriage suffered by Mrs Medland, but he added: "In my judgement, your motive was clear. You intended to kill your wife because a) she had rejected you and b) because you couldn't bear the prospect of her being with another man.
"This was a brutal attack that was pre-planned."
Medland had previously pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility but last week he was convicted of murder.
