According to The Sunday People, the television personality has said she wants to fight to save her marriage to Lee Mead.
Following months of speculation regarding the status of their relationship, a statement from the couple was released last weekend confirming they had decided to go their separate ways.
However, it has now been reported that the pair have since met up to try and arrange a reconciliation.
Van Outen, 39, is said to be "heartbroken" that the couple's four-year marriage has ended, and now wants her husband back because "they always got on so well" before their relationship troubles started.
It is understood no divorce proceedings will be issued for the foreseeable future as the couple consider their current situation to be a trial separation.
The couple first met in 2007 when Mead was a contestant on television talent show 'Any Dream Will Do', while Van Outen was one of the judges. Following a whirlwind romance, the pair married in the Seychelles in 2009, and welcomed their daughter Betsy the following year.
