Brit's Gay Wedding Targeted By Mob

A same-sex wedding involving a man from Britain has reportedly been targeted by a homophobic mob in Haiti.

According to ITV News, the group was said to have thrown rocks and home-made bombs at the private wedding ceremony. French news agency AFP said several people were hurt during the attack in the Caribbean island's capital of Port-au-Prince.

Two cars were set on fire, while windows were smashed after molotov cocktails were said to have been thrown by dozens of locals.

The British man, believed to be a Red Cross worker called Max, was uninjured in the attack.

A local inspector is quoted by the AFP as saying police intervention stopped those attending the wedding from being killed.

Max has not spoken in public about the incident over fears that it could lead to a repeat attack on his Haitian partner.
