The couple confirmed they are now parents to a baby girl, Everest Hobson Lucas, who was born via a gestational surrogate last Friday (9 August).
According to the Huffington Post, the baby is the first biological child for the couple who tied the knot less than two months ago in California.
Filmmaker Lucas, who is best known as the creator of Star Wars, already has three older children, 32-year-old Amanda who he adopted with his ex-wife Marcia Lou Griffin, as well as 25-year-old Katie and 20-year-old Jett, who he adopted alone after his split from Ms Griffin in 1983.
The 69-year-old and his 44-year-old wife married at his Skywalker Ranch in Marin Country, California in June. Their ceremony was officiated by their close friend Bill Moyers, while Steven Spielberg toasted the groom at the reception.
The couple's big day was attended by a number of high-profile stars including Samuel L Jackson and movie director Ron Howard.
Following the event, Jackson took to Twitter writing: "Let's give a Galactic shout out to Master George Lucas & his bride Melody on this their wedding day!! Congrats!!!!!! (Sic)"
The couple have been in a relationship since 2006.
