Gemma Holmes, could not remember the last three years of her life or being in a relationship, when she came out of a coma.
Ms Holmes was involved in a crash while on a moped and broke her back in the accident. Doctors did not expect her to survive, and after running a series of tests, discovered she was pregnant.
They then asked her mum, Julie, what decision should be taken.
In an interview with This Morning, Julie said: "So many things went through my head but I wanted to wait until Gemma was awake to make the decision."
Despite not knowing she was pregnant, or being in a relationship, when Gemma work up, she chose to keep the baby.
She explained: "I just thought that if this little baby inside me had managed to survive the awful crash then he was meant to be.
"I couldn't have a natural birth because the brain injury I suffered from the crash put me at risk of further damage - giving birth puts pressure on the brain.
"I was also told my body would not be able to cope with the contractions after breaking my back."
Ms Holmes has since given birth to Ruben Miracle Holmes and both are doing well.
She added: "Ruben's my little miracle and I really hope I will one day be able to run around with him."
