The 53-year-old, who is due to become a father for the first time, made the comment in an interview with the Daily Mail.
When asked about the subject of marriage, the music mogul referred to the upcoming musical show 'I Can't Sing – The X Factor Musical', and joked that a sequel could deal with the hypothetical wedding.
He said: "That's a very leading question - that could be Part 2 of the musical: 'What's Going To Happen Next' ... You'll just have to wait and see."
He also admitted that his opinion on children has changed since he discovered he was going to be a father, and he is already "very attached" to his unborn child.
"Once it's happened, you feel completely different. Once I heard the news about the baby ... Little bit of a shock, then I got used to it, and then I became incredibly paternal and protective and I feel very attached to the baby already," he confessed.
Last month, it was revealed by a US newspaper that the music mogul was to become a parent with socialite Lauren Silverman. At the time, Ms Silverman was technically still married to her husband – Andrew Silverman – who is also a close friend of Cowell's.
The Silverman's, who have a seven-year-old son together, finalised their divorce earlier this month.
