According to the survey, which was carried out by Tesco Mobile, 13.3 million Brits suffer from "60-second social media meltdown", where they become impatient for a reply, acknowledgement or approval on social media websites, far more than compared to their normal daily life.
As a result of the "selfie-important" nation, the increasing trend for 'selfies', holiday photos or even updates from a night out can leave someone feeling annoyed if their friends or followers don't acknowledge the activity on the various networking websites.
Some 43% of Brits were found in the poll to expect a 'like' or reply to a love note on a dating website or app within a minute before they started to lose their cool. This is closely followed by 38% who expect a 'like' or comment on a Facebook status within 60 seconds.
A further 31% of the UK craves acknowledgment of an Instagram post and expects a 'like' on it, or their Facebook, 'selfie' picture within a minute.
