Sinitta 'Devastated By Abortion'

Sinitta has revealed that she – and former partner Simon Cowell – went through a "difficult" and "devastating" abortion process together.

The former singer made the revelation in an interview with The Sun newspaper.

There have been reports that the 49-year-old previously aborted her unborn child behind Cowell's back, but she has hit back, saying he was by her side as they made their decision.

She admitted: "Simon was very concerned and by my side. It was upsetting and it was something very difficult that we dealt with together.

"It's such a heartbreaking thing to go through. It was devastating for both of us."

The story first emerged after it was revealed that the music mogul is to become a father for the first time with his partner Lauren Silverman. However, Sinitta insists the abortion is something the couple rarely discuss.

She added: "It's not something Simon and I talked about a lot. I got a puppy. It sounds weird, but that helped me get over it.

"I have always admitted I wanted to marry him and have children with him - not just because I love him, but because I thought I would be good for him."

While this will be the first child for Cowell, Sinitta has two adopted children with her ex-husband Andy Willner.
