Simon Hannigan, 27, from Wrexham died on Saturday as he walked along the A483. He was struck by a Vauxhall Corsa.
His wife Gemma has described her husband as "a family man who would do anything for everyone".
She added that he "doted" on their three sons, Aled, 7, Ethan, 5, and three-year-old Ryan.
The couple were together for 14 years but had only been married two months to the day before Mr Hannigan was killed. His profession as a bricklayer saw him recently carry out work in Africa.
"Over there, he taught the Africans how to plaster and render as well as build," his widow old the BBC. "He was there for about nine months in total, but stopped because when we got married he wanted to start married life at home with us."
He was hit on the southbound carriageway at around 6.20pm on Saturday and police later appealed for witnesses to the incident.
