Lavigne's Ex Drops Her Last Name

Deryck Whibley has legally dropped his ex-wife's last name.

The Sum 41 frontman married Avril Lavigne back in July 2006 and following the ceremony, he took her name in the process to be legally known as Deryck Jason Lavigne Whibley.


However, their marriage lasted just over three years, and in September 2009 it was revealed that Lavigne and Whibley had separated.

Their divorce was finalised in November 2010, but according to TMZ, Whibley has only now dropped his former wife's name.

He will revert back to his birth name.

Earlier this year, Lavigne tied the knot with her second husband Chad Kroeger.
