According to The Courier, Cheryl Rennie Soutar now plans to tie the knot with her fiancé on 3 December. Earlier this week, she learned her mother had just weeks to live after terminal lung cancer was found to have spread to her mother's spleen.
Cheryl now said she has two weeks to plan her wedding to ensure her mum can be there.
The bride-to-be is quoted by the paper as saying: "Mum was diagnosed in August with terminal lung cancer and given three to six months to live. We got the news the day before her 47th birthday.
"But she was doing really well — we were just out shopping and laughing the other day, then she was complaining of pain in her side and I took her to hospital.
"It was then we found out that the cancer had spread quickly to her spleen, and the doctor said she had a few weeks left.
"I just want to do everything for her now, and being at my wedding is her final wish."
Cheryl, who is 26 and a mum-of-three, added: "I wasn't planning to get married for a few years, but all the stress will be worth it on the day. It will mean everything to me to have my mum there.
"We are just confirming the venue, and my wedding dress has been donated by someone from Essex. They are sending it up.
"An anonymous person also donated £500 to get my mum a new outfit for the day, and I want to thank everyone for what they've done."
