Second EuroMillions Couple 'To Separate'

A couple who won a £101m EuroMillions jackpot two years ago, have reportedly decided to go their separate ways.

According to the Daily Mail, David and Angela Dawes are said to be living apart, with family members blaming the breakdown of their relationship on rows over how they were going to spend their massive fortune.

There are some family members who insist the couple are together, but others claim 49-year-old Mr Dawes is living away from his wife and has even frozen some of their lottery funds in a bid to stop his estranged partner from accessing them.

Following the couple's massive lottery win in October 2011, they moved into a £9m mansion in Surrey, but Mr Dawes is now thought to be living in a £3.5m flat in West London, with Mrs Dawes remaining in the couple's home.

However, there are conflicting reports as to the nature of the couple's current relationship status.

When questioned at the weekend, Mrs Dawes is quoted by the publication as saying: "I don't know what I am meant to have done, I don't know why I am in the paper."

One of Mr Dawes' sons, from his first marriage, added: "I first heard the rumour a month ago but it's not true. There's a lot of people connected to the family and so forth but it's so obviously discountable.

Mr Dawes' sister-in-law has disputed their claims though, stating: "Dave [Dawes' older brother] has told they have split up and they are getting a divorce. He told me he has frozen all the money so she can't get at it.

"He doesn't want her to spend it all. He didn't like the way she was getting through it."

While another relative added: "They have definitely broken up. It is to do with the money. They have been rowing about how to spend it.

"Money is the root of all evil – too much money and not enough ways to spend it."

News of the Dawes' split comes just a week after another lottery-winning couple, Adrian and Gillian Bayford, confirmed they were to divorce due to the stress associated with winning £148m.
