According to a new survey, carried out by buyagift.com, a number of men do not prioritise gift-buying with one in five men leaving their shopping until Christmas Eve, while 10% admitted they don't even bother to buy their partner a present at all.
A further 5% just opt to giving their other half cash on Christmas morning.
Research has suggested that men will start thinking about their Christmas shopping this week, but only 4% have bought any gifts. Some 35% blame being disorganised as the reason for last-minute panic buying, while 10% say they deliberately leaving their shopping until after the festive holidays so that they can grab a bargain in the sale.
For 40% of men polled, they buy their partner their gift while they are out shopping together.
However, it was revealed that a third of the UK have absolutely no faith in their partners' ability to buy them a gift, while perfume, wine and chocolate are the most popular gifts men buy women at Christmas.
Dan Mountain, CEO of buyagift.com, said: "There is a lot to organise at Christmas and it can be a busy and stressful time of year, but that's no excuse to be a scrooge this December.
"Though it looks like the nation's men are letting the side down, many of us have no faith in our other half's gifting abilities."
