The pair are said to have been dating since 2011 after meeting when they were both studying at Oxford University.
A spokesperson for the Harry Potter actress is quoted as confirming: "Emma and Will separated last summer and are no longer in touch."
According to The Mirror, Watson's busy work schedule was a factor behind the split.
The 23-year-old has previously said she tries to avoid dating famous men as the thought of being part of a celebrity couple makes her "nervous".
At the time, she told Glamour magazine: "I try not to (date famous men). It definitely makes me nervous.
"I haven't tried to make other celebrity friends or date people who are in my industry, because it's difficult and it can be really superficial. I'm lucky that most of the people I've dated I've been at university with."
She continued: "I wish someone had told me at 15, 'You accept the love you think you deserve'. I would have approached my relationships completely differently if they had.
"I like this idea of quality control that we don't have to accept just anyone into our lives."
