Former Rugby Star Ends Marriage

Former rugby player Jonathan Davies has ended his 12-year marriage to his second wife Helen, it has been reported.

Davies, who now commentates on the sport for the BBC, is understood to have left the family home just before Christmas after saying he and his wife had "grown apart".

No one else is thought to be involved in the split.

According to The Sunday Mirror, friends of Helen claim she has been left "gutted" by the 51-year-old's decision.

A source is quoted by the publication as saying: "It is just very sad for both of them. There is no-one else involved, they've just grown apart. Helen is gutted."

Another insider claimed Davies' heavy work commitments had put pressure on the couple's marriage as he was forced to be away for long periods at a time.

Davies and his wife, 35, first met in 2001, four years after Davies' first wife, Karen, died from cancer. The former rugby star has three grown-up children - Scott, Grace and Geena - from his marriage to Karen, and a 10-year-old daughter, Molly, from his second marriage.
